LMAO! Yep, they are intimidating! But they are wonders of nature, and yes they eat other bugs!! Find an old leaker 10 gallon aquarium on Craigslist for free. Put 3" of arroyo dirt in it and a flat rock & water dish. Store it in the garage. The next time you see one of these critters, drop it in the tank and keep it for a pet for a few weeks! They are amazing to watch. Just drop anything alive in there and it will feast on it. When your done, put it back in you garden. :) P.S. - I live in town now and miss these guys!

Hope all is well for you!
Been crazy busy with a whole lotta nothing.
Amazing how long the list gets and how few are the ones that matter.

Thank you, Ruby. You are so right. There's a study about stories that were read to babies in utero and not only do they prefer the mother's voice, but they prefer the original story read to them in exactly the way their mothers did.
Babies know.

Talking and cooing to the infants and even to the unborn ones in the womb, can go a long way in soothing and calming them. They have an innate capability to recognize mother's voice and her feel. Just hand over an infant to a stranger, and see the ruckus he creates. He'll immediately calm down once he's back in his mother's lap.

Hi, Russ,

Yes. Work doesn't begin to describe it. Service to a higher Authority is more like it.
And all is well. That's very kind of you to ask.
Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. I don't know what I'd do without them. Thank God.

Hi, Judith,

I had a glance at your latest posts.

That is a lot of work. I did a bit of psych in my undergrad.

'The pivotal moment came in a park, my second or third day out with her, when another dog (off lead, of course) approached us and she went wild, dragging me half way down a dirt path, yanking a ligament along the way. The other dog tore off into the woods and I limped home.'

Yikes.

Hope you are well.
